Founded in 1935 by the Wise family and chiefly producing classical and tutorial material, today the US company is a major copyright holder in both popular and classical music. The Madison Avenue office houses a multi-faceted group of executive, administrative, editorial and production staff. A copyright and licensing department manages the Wise Music catalogue. The G Schirmer/AMP music catalogue is also based here as are a recording studio and the headquarters of MusicFirst, the group’s pioneering Digital Education Division offering cloud-based learning.

Edition Wilhelm Hansen is the largest music publisher in Scandinavia and its Rental Library represents all of the Wise Music Group’s composers. The Wilhelm Hansen catalogue includes the most celebrated Scandinavian composers, from Grieg, Sibelius and Nielsen to leading contemporary Danish composers.

Wise Music Italy was founded in 2021 and, thanks to some important acquisitions, today is among Italy’s leading independent publishing companies, with a catalogue of over 23,000 copyrights ranging from dance to pop, urban to jazz, and electronic to classical. Evergreens include "Freed from desire" (Gala), "I know you want me" (Pitbull), and "Seek bromance" (Tim Berg aka Avicii). The catalogue also features Italian pop masterpieces such as "Occidentali's Karma" and "Amen" (Francesco Gabbani), "Come neve" (Giorgia and Marco Mengoni), "Credo" (Giorgia), "Potremmo ritornare" (Tiziano Ferro"), "Crepe" (Irama), and "Il coraggio di andare" (Laura Pausini and Biagio Antonacci), to name a few.
