The Spanish composer Alberto Iglesias will be honored with the Bremen Film Award 2011. This award is given annually and the prize is 8,000 Euros ($10,500).
The award was created in 1999 to be given to distinguished actors, directors, writers and producers of European cinema. The award ceremony will take place at the town hall of Bremen, Germany on 20 January 2011. This year the award was presented to the Austrian filmmaker Ulrich Seidl.
Iglesias has composed the music for several Pedro Almodovar films and has been nominated twice for Oscars for the soundtracks to The Constant Gardener and The Kite Runner.
