MusicFirst leads the way in cloud-based music education with strong 3Q sales

MusicFirst, the NYC-based company offering teachers and students a cloud-based collaborative music education system, announces substantial successes for the 3rd quarter of 2015.

After two years of building its unique combination of music software, learning management system, and assessment tools MusicFirst has recruited over 300 US school districts with over 125,000 individuals paid subscribers to its shared content package-the MusicFirst Online Classroom (MFOC).

Sales have increased 425% over the same period last year and with revenue 35% over budget so far this year. MusicFirst is now the single largest cloud-based learning platform dedicated to K-12 music education worldwide.

MusicFirst is also expanding its offer. Director Dr Jim Frankel reports that following the August launch of its online practice and assessment tool for students and teachers PracticeFirst, the company has signed up a number of the most important 3rd educational publishers such as Music Sales, Neil A. Kjos, Kendor, and many others to supply a rich variety of music content for practice use and assessment.

‘We are absolutely thrilled with the enthusiastic adoption of our ground-breaking product in the K-12 music education market. It is so gratifying to hear our customers testimonials about how MusicFirst has transformed learning in their classrooms’ he announces. ‘Our product keeps developing and improving based on our unique ability to respond customer feedback so quickly – something that our cloud-based technology makes possible. The future is very bright for MusicFirst.”

MusicFirst’s success comes from a standing start in a new sector. In an independent study, Music Education, Orchestras, and Technology commissioned by MusicFirst, Dr. Rick Dammers of Rowan University observes:

‘While indepth study of MusicFirst is needed and likely to occur in order to make clear statements of efficacy, the initial data is promising, as it indicates that MusicFirst appears to be intuitive and engaging for students and valued by teachers.

‘(MusicFirst)’s unique combination of music software, learning management system, and assessment tools provides a comprehensive set of software that crosses grade levels and supports all types of music instruction. The focus on providing access to an entire school (rather than specific classes) not only in the classroom but at home as well is unprecedented in the field.’
